At Sun Valley we understand how information providers, such as libraries, are developing their services and how researchers (our learners) are using them, particularly in this era of rapid technological change. Picture 2904
We are currently utilizing the Information Technology Centre to access and complete a World War II research task.  We are constantly looking at ways to improve learners’ access to the information resources they need, to ensure that we remain at the forefront of world class research.

This openness to information access focuses on the behaviours and needs of our learners and preparing them for the World of Work. This is integral in life sciences and instilling necessary skills with a goal of life long learning. The overall aim of the Library as an information provider was to:

  • Help learners to develop an in-depth understanding of learners’ research approaches to discovering, accessing, analysing, managing, creating, refining and transfering information;
  • Provide learners with opportunities to  compare using information in different subjects/learning areas;
  • Identify barriers to more effective performance in using, creating, managing and exchanging information resources, and suggest how they might be overcome.
