It is 2017 and Sun Valley Primary School is turning 40 years old. Where has all the time gone? To celebrate the incredible journey of this fine school, the Gr 7’s will be making a promise to themselves. They will no longer be looking towards icons and social heroes for advice or guidance. They will search deep down, find the strength within themselves and believe that they can be their own hero.
The year has got off to a flying start with a couple of highlights:
Grade 7s meet their Grade 1 HOOFIES. What an awesome experience for the Gr 1 and Gr 7 students alike as they got to meet their new “family member” for the very first time. They played in the new Grade 1 play-park, chatted and laughed together before venturing out on a Walk-it circuit together. What a special time.
Grade 7’s impress at Athletics Day. The Grade 7 cheerleaders were quite amazing as they screamed, shouted and danced to the beat, to make the 2017 athletics one of the best in the history of the school.
Grade 7’s work as a team and produce beautiful work. The intensity of work certainly increases in Grade 7. Yes there is time for fun, play and movement, but there is also a lot of hard work. The students are knuckling down, working together and producing top quality work. Keep it up, guys!
Grade 7s prepare for their first assembly. This week, the Grade 7’s are working tirelessly to remember their words, their dance moves and their positions in order to make their opening assembly a real spectacle. Pop down before work on Friday to witness the Grade 7’s explain the concept of a school being a HOME.
Here’s to another 11 months of hard work, special memories, fun, laughter and of course…DANCING!
