Last week Wednesday it was the first official meeting for the HOOFIE families. The Grade Ones had met their Grade Seven Hoofie leaders a few times the week before to get to know one another and to understand the concept of Hoofies.
The concept of Hoofies is that every child is part of a unique family at Sun Valley. The families are made up of a child from each grade. They meet every second week and connect with their families. The Hoofie families are another way for each child to feel a sense of love and belonging, as they remain in the same family for the time that they are at Sun Valley.
In 7 years time the Grade Ones will then be the leaders of the Hoofie groups.
It is a wonderful concept which the whole school enjoys and our Grade Ones are always looking forward to seeing their Hoofies and often seek them out during break!
