This week the Grade Three’s have been erupting with excitement as they have been learning about the structure of a volcano.
We were privileged to use our multimedia equipment in the classroom, to research and explore exactly what a volcano is and how it works. The children were given an opportunity to ask questions and to expand their knowledge of these mighty, yet essential structures on our Earth.
After labelling and colouring their own volcanoes, they were given the opportunity to watch, as Mrs Altern used household items to demonstrate the eruption of a volcano in our playground.
Step by step the materials were added and, as the eruption appeared there was a round of applause and shouts of joy from 132 ecstatic children. Awesome!
