How great is it to be able to learn such abstract and analytical concepts through play?
In the days of yore, Maths was believed to have been a concept that was learnt only through practice, practice and more practice.
However, at Sun Valley Primary, we believe that it is not only through practice, but through play… A lot of PLAY!
During our Mathematics Talent Development Week, we showed our students that through playing educational math games, you can grasp certain math concepts and have fun.
We have been focusing on Time and Place Value in our classes, and the children had great exposure to these concepts through creating their very own ‘Sunshine Clocks’ and playing with cards to learn the place value of numbers.
We cannot wait to see how our Grade 3’s thrive when new concepts are taught through group work and play.
