Last week our Grade One classes were introduced to E-colours. The E-colour system introduces the children to four different colours – red, blue, green and yellow, which describe various aspects of a person and the way in which they function. The E-colour concept is introduced and taught on a basic level in Grade One. In each Grade they learn a little bit more about E-colours.

The first colour they were introduced to is green. The green e-colour symbolizes the “thinker”. Someone who is a green e-colour enjoys analyzing information and making lists, thinking about what they are doing.

Our classes processed and applied this information by making a green thinker crown. When they wore their crowns they were reminded of the cognitive part of their brain. The classes loved this activity and it was a wonderful way to introduce the colour green. The Grade Ones look forward to learning about the other three e-colours.
