Last week, the Grade threes had the opportunity to visit and explore our very own Soetwater Environmental Education Centre. The children got to learn and appreciate the history behind such a beautiful place.
The weather was perfect for a treasure hunt on the beach. Here the children searched the beach for natural and man made objects of different shapes, sizes and colours. We picked up litter off the beach and learnt the importance of recycling.
We also learnt about the snakes and reptiles that live in the area, how to identify them and what to look out for and be careful of.
After a lot of excitement, we learnt how to use the litter we had picked up in a creative way by building and designing our very own works of art.
