The Grade 7’s thoroughly enjoyed their outing to Soetwater Environmental Education Centre.
The rock pool study proved incredibly interesting. Searching for life amongst the seaweed proved to be quite a challenge for the graceful hands of our lovely ladies who felt that anything that crawls was a ‘gogga’.
The bird watching was fascinating where we identified different types of birds.
Lunchtime brought with it some time to swim. The weather was in our favour, so with hardly a breeze, our children dived into the chilling water. A team effort prevailed amongst the few who dared to enjoy the swim.
We concluded our outing with a fascinating Snake Show – not for the fainted at heart!
There is no amount of learning to replace a field study where everyone is engaged and ready to apply themselves to some healthy competition.
