The Grade 12 learners have covered the mechanics of the discursive essay in English and History, but now they have to apply (or learn) the skills for their final Life Orientation exam.

They have dissected the IEB discursive essay rubric and wrote a mock exam essay based on the mark allocation of the rubric. They have marked each other’s essays based on the rubric.

They have looked at their marked essays to see where they could possibly improve.                                                                                                                  They have written an essay in pairs, working on the mechanics of the essay.                                                                                                                                  They have considered possible topics for this upcoming exam.
