Recently, we held a most successful Expo day. The focus for the day in Grade One was learning about ‘Stranger Danger‘. We began the morning discussing the importance of staying safe and not talking to or listening to strangers. We also taught them the emergency number if they ever felt unsafe – 10111.

The Grade Ones then watched two videos that helped them understand why it is important to stay away from strangers. They also watched the “ABC’s of Stranger Danger’ which gave tips on how to stay safe.

The Grade Ones then applied their new knowledge and made a collage of the 10111 number. They worked together as a group and tore colorful paper into smalll pieces to decorate the poster – great for their fine motor skills! They had fun learning and practicing the number.
