This is the time of tests and exams again.. and the Grade 10 Design students and doing some intensive thinking and showing their insight in their theory tests.

Some tips that they would recommend, to do the trick..

Fuel Your Body

Fuel your body with appropriate brain food (healthy snacks) the night before and day of the exam

Pace Yourself

Take a few minutes to glance through your test. Decide the best course of action according to what you know. It’s always better to get the easiest points first, so you may find out that you want to start at the end and move backward. Or, you might determine that you know more about the middle section of the test than anything else, so you’ll start there to boost your confidence. Take a few moments to plan your strategy and pace yourself so you’re not out of ammunition when the last hour rolls around!

Things to Avoid when writing an essay

  • Avoid excuses. Don’t write at the end that you ran out of time, or did not have time to study because you were sick.
  • Don’t “pad” your answer. Instructors are usually quite adept at detecting student bluffing. They give no credit for elaboration of the obvious. If you are stuck, you can elaborate on what you do know, as long as it relates to the question.
  • Avoid the “kitchen sink” approach. Many students simply write down everything they know about a particular topic, without relating the information to the question. Everything you include in your answer should help to answer the question and support your essay.  You need to show how/why the information is relevant — don’t leave it up to your instructor to figure this out!

Good luck to all!
