It’s that time of the year when the Grade 10’s have to dig deep, get creative and write amazing stories.  Their brief is to write, illustrate and read a children’s book aimed at children aged 7 and younger.  The students were amazed at the quality of books done by previous Grade 10’s.

The stories vary from lost children to healthy habits to friendship.  Students worked outside on the benches, enjoying some peer work and the lovely weather.

This activity goes down so well with all the students and it caters to many different learning styles.  The aural learner reads and hears the story; the visual creative learner draw illustrations and the verbal/linguistic learner is involved in the story writing.

The students’ enthusiasm is very encouraging and I can’t wait to see and hear their final products!
