A few weeks ago we introduced our Grade Ones to the concept of E-colours. The E-colour system introduces the children to four different colours – red, blue, green and yellow, which describe various aspects of a person and the way in which they function. It can also describe characteristics of their personalities. It is taught on a very basic level in Grade One and goes more in depth as they progress through the grades.

The first E-colour they learnt, was green, the thinker. Someone who is part green E-colour enjoys analyzing things, order and making lists. They enjoying thinking about what they doing before and during a task. To apply what they had learnt, they made a green thinker crown. They then wore these crowns in class to remind them of the cognitive part of their being. They enjoyed this activity and proudly paraded their creations.

It was a fun lesson to introduce the E-colours and we look forward to teaching them the remaining three colours!
