It is Orators time, where our Grade fives got the chance to choose a piece of literature to perform in front of their peers. The classes were buzzing with great excitement, each child came up one by one and gave of their best.

There was a great variety of pieces that we got to enjoy as a class, some funny, some serious and other pieces that made us think about our environment that we live in. There were stories about Cape Town’s water shortage, wonderful poetry pieces that made us laugh, other pieces that made us think as well as those pieces that took us to a different planet for a moment in time.

Each class teacher then got the chance to choose 5 children from their class to perform in the semi – final stages of the competition where they performed their pieces in the hall on Wednesday morning. This was done to prepare the learners and give them the confidence needed for the finals that will take place in March 2018.

All the teachers and children are bubbling with excitement and waiting in anticipation to see what unfolds during the Orators finale. We all holding thumbs hoping that one of our grade 5 learners brings the title home this year.
