Term 1 may be drawing to a close, but things are all but slowing down at Sunbird. Last week was a SUPER one from start to finish. We took a break from our usual routines and enjoyed an outing to Kalk Bay, a Sports Day and a Dress Up Day!

On Tuesday and Wednesday the boys and girls took turns invading Kalk Bay harbour. After a week spent learning about the 5 senses in the classroom, the children relished the opportunity to engage their senses in a real life setting. We enjoyed a delicious snack at Kalkies and a walk along the pier, complete with an appearance from the seals. The sights, sounds and smells of the harbour certainly made for a magical learning experience!

On Thursday, our Sunbirdies tore up the Athletics track as they participated in the first ever Sunbird Pre-Primary Sports Day. It was wonderful to see our children attack their races with such vigour, enthusiasm and grit. The love present at Sunbird was palpable as the children cheered for their friends, congratulated one another and parents came out in their droves to support their little superstars. Amidst fierce competition (mainly between the teachers), it was the Yellow Class that eventually emerged victorious!

On Friday, our children had the opportunity to shed their everyday personas and embody their favourite relatives. Dress-up day saw our children resembling their mommies, daddies, siblings and even their grandparents! Squeals of excitement were never-ending as the children got to see one another in costume. Talk about ending off the week on a high note!

What a SUPER week with these SUPER kids!
