The Grade 1s had their first art lesson and thoroughly enjoyed it. They learned about primary colours and what make the secondary colours through a song .

Then the Grade 1s were put to the test: only using the primary and secondary colours they had to create a painting of their choice.

The Primary Colours are the only colours that cannot be made by mixing other colours. It is a group of colours  from which all other colours can be obtained by mixing. The secondary colours are made by mixing the primary colours together.

The students had a great time, creating and painting their designs and their paintings will soon be displayed in the passage way of the school. I cannot wait to see what else they will produce in the next lesson.
