It is no doubt that the annual Grade Seven camp is one of the highlights on the Grade 7 calendar. This fun-filled three days is hosted at High Africa in the scenic Breede River Valley. This camp is supervised by qualified personnel to ensure a high standard of safety and service is offered to our students.

The programme at High Africa offers action-packed activities that will help build confidence and trust. Students are encouraged to develop their cooperative skills in an atmosphere of risk-taking and fun. Our thinkers are given the opportunity to learn about themselves and their peers through a variety of stimulating and challenging activities designed to improve communication, co-operation and leadership.

The students were not only challenged, but were also given the opportunity to recoup. The accommodation proved to be comfortable and the excellent catering had our kids coming back for seconds (and thirds). They were also given the opportunity to try their own hand at some cooking and many of them were pleasantly surprised by the delicious creations they were able to concoct in their potjies.

Creativity continued to blossom as they set a table fit for a king and queen with only that which they have packed in their bags or things in their immediate surroundings. Takkies proved to be a spectacular centrepiece and towels added bright splashes of colour and flair.

Here are some of the things our Grade 7s had to say about their camping experience:

“This years camp was absolutely thrilling and exhilarating! We all loved the river rafting, team building exercises and high-ropes. It is an experience we will never forget”  – Layla Salmon
“Camp was a fun, enjoyable and memorable experience. Everyday was jam-packed with awesome activities. My personal favourites were rafting and high-ropes. While rafting, I had loads of fun and even made new friends (despite it being really tough to paddle so far). The high-ropes were very difficult, but I felt proud when I was done and the managed to overcome my fears. Overall, the whole experience of camp and the time I spent with my friends was amazing. It was truly an experience I will never forget.”  – Lucia Serfontein.
