How does one prepare for a practical test in IT? Practice, practice and more practice, until you know your code in your sleep. Code is another language which requires you to understand your code, why the code is structured the way it is, and know what piece of code fits where. Staring at the textbook or copying other people’s code will not work! You have to engage with the code. Make your mistakes. Make them in class. Know where you made the mistake: is it a typo, is it a syntax error, is it a logical error? And so, we will practice and practice until the code becomes second nature and we can say: “Of course, I know that!” The Grade 10 class are working hard to understand their third language and making sure they are well prepared for the upcoming ┬átest.
