The Grade 7’s have spent the last 3 weeks designing their pointillism painting.

Pointillism is a technique using small dots of various colours, which become blended in to design a painting. The term “Pointillism” was coined by art critics in the late 1880s to ridicule the works of various artists, and is now used without its earlier mocking connotation.

This medium is not for everyone, one student told me that she hadn’t realised that dots are a form of painting and that you could create one by using dots. Another student told me, that he enjoyed this form of painting and that he wants to try one in ink at home.
