The Grade 6s have started exploring the Rights and Responsibilities of living in a Democratic South Africa. Over the past week, we have been examining specifically the Rights and Responsibilities of a child within our Rainbow Nation.

We have analysed shocking statistics of lack of Children’s Rights across our globe and have realised how very fortunate we are. A discussion was had about how with each right, we are accountable and need to make use of it.

Co-operative groups were tasked with choosing one of the Children’s Rights from our Constitution  and to design an informative iMovie that defines and illustrates these rights. Great fun was had as our kids got a chance to showcase their acting abilities and understanding of what we’ve learnt.

This week we are diving into the Rights and Responsibilities of Consumers. We are looking closely at the rights set out by our Consumer Protection Act.
