This term in Grade 4, we have been focusing on Our Valley and the way that Fish Hoek is mapped out. The best way to understand this concept is to see it for yourself. So, we took our classroom outside and the Grade 4s hiked to the top of Elsies Peak!

The views were incredible as there was not a single cloud in the sky! We looked down to the valley below us and pointed out the roads that we had been discussing. The Grade 4s scanned the area and pointed out some of the beautiful plants, interesting insects, and they even managed to spot an elusive Dassie out in the sun!

At the top of Elsies Peak, groups of our Grade 4s were able to see the incredible 360′ view of our Valley. From Muizenberg to Simon’s Town and everything in between, the Grade 4s were able to then sketch a detailed bird’s eye view of the area laid out before them.

We can’t wait to show our Grade 4s more of Our Valley!
