During a time of much needed rain, our Grade 10s have been learning all about moisture in the atmosphere and how we can use our water resources more sustainably. It seems that the effort expended in class yielded some results as we were blessed with a beautiful, yet short lived, storm over the long weekend!

The Grade 9 Arts and Culture students have been actively engaged in creating their own graffiti tags to welcome the newest members to Silvermine. A squad of 22 boys and girls participated in our annual Silvermine Academy Sports Tour which is organised by Knysna Montessori. The bus drive was long but the spirits were high. Leo Van Der Bank is our first student at Silvermine Academy High School to do music as a subject through the Music Academy. He is currently in matric and is doing classical guitar as his main instrument. The Director of the Academy, Brenda Feldtmann, is thoroughly enjoying working with Leo who shows enormous talent and potential.
