Starting the year off well

Starting the year off well

The Grade 6’s have adapted well to their new grade.  They are thoroughly enjoying  their first setwork book, Tomas, and they often beg their teachers to read further.  They are also eagerly working on their first Assessment Task which is based on People at the Cape during the 18th Century.  This links up beautifully with Tomas, helping them to better understand[Read More…]

Sensational Sprinting at Inter-Schools Athletics Day 2012

On Saturday morning our Athletics team made Sun Valley incredibly proud. The team was out in full force with the aim of making their school proud – and that they most definitely did. Our sprinters, in particular, stood out to me. As I was standing on the side of the track I couldn’t help but notice that we were winning[Read More…]

Do You Have the Courage to Continue?

My friend, and fellow deputy, Mandy Pistorius, follows Dr Caroline Leaf on Twitter and the following quote by Winston Churchill was tweeted by Caroline: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” We should never think we have arrived. Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new. Failure is just another experience to demonstrate[Read More…]
