This powerful Boys school brought most of their A Teams; this was going to be a very tough challenge for the boys, especially in their first game of the season. Bananas in Pyjamas …

The Pyjama Party hosted by the Foundation Phase teachers was a resounding success. The Grade R’s were snuggled up in winter jammies. They decorated biscuits with gooey icing and mini marshmallows. Their teachers supplied them with popcorn as they eventually settled down to watch a movie. The Grade One’s played games and went on a night hike with torches. Duster[Read More…]

Life on the Ocean Wave

Life on the Ocean Wave

Go back in time and imagine life on a Pirate Galleon. Imagine the rough seas and the heaving deck. What would you see if you looked out of the porthole in your cabin? The Grade Three’s had great fun imagining a variety of scenarios in a Creativity and Design lesson linked to their Pirate Theme in Thematic Studies.    [Read More…]

Helpful Birdies!

Helpful Birdies!

Part of learning is the ability to share the knowledge that you’ve been taught. This week our Golden Bird Society had the opportunity to do just that. It’s important that we teach learners to give back. Part of this opportunity was to teach them that learning is only part of the process, it’s what we do with that knowledge that really counts. In this lesson[Read More…]

Teaching Study Skills

Teaching Study Skills

Learning to Study is not a life skill.  It is short term skill needed until the end of our Bachelor degrees.  By age 23, most people will have completed the season where educators can only determine your ability by making you write a test. Once we have our Bachelor degree or Diploma, few adults study again.  Honours, Masters, and PhD[Read More…]
